Things To Do In Westmeath - Christmas 2011
It's a busy, possibly a little stressful, but a wonderful time of the year. We've compiled a handy guide to events and things to do as a family in Westmeath this festive season to help you make the most of the holidays.
Many of the fairs are free and include some family entertainment.
- There is a Pop Up Christmas Market on Mount Street in Mullingar every day til Christmas with lots of local crafters.
- Christmas Fair in Glasson on December 18th.
Keep checking our Events section for updates on what is taking place. You can also save time and hassle by visiting our shopping section - it features a wide range of online shopping partners and some special discounts for My Kids Time subscribers!
There's nothing quite as Christmassy as the annual visit to a great pantomime or festive show. Oh no, there isn't. Oh yes, there is! And so on... Again, do keep an eye on our Events section for details of forthcoming shows.
Deck The Halls. Oh Silent Night. Oh Come All Ye Faithful. Nothing quite evokes the Christmas spirit quite as much as a rousing or inspirational carol service.
- Carols for Charity in Mullingar organised by Westmeath Volunteer Centre Sunday 18th
- Again, keep checking the Events guide and I'll update it regularly as more information comes in.
If we get some nice crisp winter days, then Nature Walks are a great way to collect things for making gifts and tiring out the children before a hot bath and a Christmas family movie, so why not put on the wellies and woolly hats and scarves and put a bit of red in their cheeks?!
Why not try a few crafts ideas at home during these long evenings? Get out the art supplies and try out our great Christmas Make & Do Project or try your hand at making some fabulous home-made gifts or food presents - yours effort and thoughtfulness are bound to be appreciated by the recipients!
I'll continue to update this page over the coming weeks, so do check back again!
Finally, I do hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
