Mykidstime Save Energy Ambassadors

These are the 5 parents & families who were chosen by vote to be the Mykidstime Save Energy Ambassadors:

Berenice B, Sligo "We are replacing our electric stove with a gas stove."

Carmel Galway "We got rid of our tumble drier and now dry our clothes on the line or in front of the fire (as we do at least 2 washes a day for a family of 7)"

Michaela McK, Wexford "Where possible,I plan meals so that when the oven is switched on,the WHOLE meal goes in the oven.For example,roast chicken and potatoes with vegetables and rhubarb crumble.The average oven uses 3000 watts,so it makes sense to use all that energy as efficiently as you can!"

Naomi C, Limerick "Installed a free standing stove to replace an open fire. Up to 80% more fuel efficient than an open fire"

Aine McG, Dublin "'bath' kids in base of shower instead of filling the bath!"

Each family will be given a plug in energy monitor and instructions for a detailed monthly activity about saving energy.  They will submit information to Mykidstime.ie each month between November & January as well as writing a short diary entry on how the activity went and what the family thought of it.  These will be shared on the Save Energy Blog.
